Tinnitus is basically ringing in the ears that some people experience from nerve pressure, it is defined as when you experience ringing or other noise sounds in one or both ears.

It affects 15-20% of people, and usually occurs in older adults.  However, anyone can experience this due to in high inflammation and damage to tissues in the ears.  My Husband had his tinnitus symptoms from a spine injury.
